NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) -- After long-awaited winter weather a few days ago, many people ran outside, put on their gloves and gathered up any remnants of snow to sculpt a snowman masterpiece.
Well, one snowman in Newport News was apparently on thin ice.
A WAVY viewer captured the moment around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. The video shows a woman stop in front of their home. She gets out of her car, wearing what appears to be a onesie, walks up to the snowman in the front yard and knocks it over.
The frosty response was followed by a warm invitation from the homeowner, who said he wants to make her day better. In an online form to WAVY, Mike Dauses said he wants to give her a gift card, free dinner or even a "good hug."
Luckily, there's more opportunities in the coming days for the Dauses to rebuild the snowman.
As the cold weather continues, much of the region could see some snow this weekend.
This includes much of Hampton Roads as well as some areas in North Carolina. So grab your coats and gloves and go make your snowmen! When you do, please share your photos via this form.
