NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Apparently, some drivers just can't drive 55.
Virginia State Police are reminding motorists to "Slow Your Speed", after they handed out a couple recent summons to drivers caught going way over the speed limit.
State Police tweeted about a recent incident where a trooper clocked someone going 129 mph in a 55 mph zone in Norfolk.
The driver was issued the summons on Feb. 17 and will have an upcoming appearance in traffic court.
WAVY reached out to State Police to find out where the driver was pulled over going 74 mph over the posted speed limit. A spokesperson confirmed it was on westbound 564 at the Norfolk International Terminal.
State Police said soon after that traffic stop, a trooper clocked another driver using LiDAR going 123 mph. They sent WAVY this photo from that incident.
